Editorial policy
Search, book, change, cancel.
Our method follows a booking from first search to refund, because the real test of a travel site starts after you pay.
Start with the trip
Every review starts from a realistic journey: a route, dates and the kind of traveller it suits. A recommendation is a judgement for that context, not a promise that one booking site is best for everyone.
Search
We compare the same route and dates across several booking channels where possible, and note the first price shown alongside the price at checkout.
Book
We read each step before payment: extras that are pre-selected, card or service fees, seat and baggage charges, and what the confirmation actually includes. Where we did not complete a booking, the review says so.
Change and cancel
Flexibility is where booking channels differ most. We explain who handles a change or cancellation, what it costs and how a refund is processed, using the provider's published terms and, where stated, our own observations.
Sources, dates and limits
Each review identifies its sources and shows a last-checked date. We distinguish a booking site's own statements from facts we confirmed independently, and we do not present desk research as hands-on testing. Prices and policies change; confirm the current terms before booking.
Imagery and identities
Editorial images on Xinzhuan8 are AI-generated illustrations. They do not show tested services or real bookings. Our named editors are fictional personae with AI-generated portraits.
Independence and corrections
Booking sites cannot pay for placement or see a review before publication. Affiliate relationships are disclosed. If something is wrong, email the page address, the statement and a supporting source to [email protected]. We assess corrections on the evidence and update material errors.
